Trying to figure out why I can’t view two documents side by side. It’s only showing the horizontal split option, not the vertical. What am I doing wrong?
You need to have your mouse pointer on the little split screen icon in the top right of the editor (it’ll probably look like a little rectangle with a thicker black line across the top before you toggle) then press and hold the ‘option’ key while you click to change editor split screen modes.

Howdy y’all! Cowboy down! He is stuck in side-by-side screen mode and has no clue how we got there.
Ok! I am swirling around the drain here and totally stuck. I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m stuck in side-by-side viewing mode and I have no clue how I got there nor can I find it in the training material. Help!
PS: I think this might be a helpful trick if I knew how to use it. Thank you kindly -Tim
View—> editor layout—> split or split off or vertical or horizontal! Look at me I’m not so helpless after all. Thank you kindly for your silent support. -Tim
