Capitalisation and inverted commas- annoying autocorrect

I don’t know how to stop automatic wrong capitalisation after quotation marks:

“That’s a difficult question.” she said. “I’m sure there must be an answer.” - this is correctly punctuated. But autocorrect always gives me

“That’s a difficult question.” She said. “I’m sure there must be an answer.” - wit the incorrect capital on she. I just can’t get it to stop correcting. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Richard

That’s because you’ve used a full stop (period) after ‘question’, so the program correctly thinks you want to begin a new sentence with She said.

The correct punctuation is to use a comma after ‘question’ and then autocorrect isn’t triggered:

“That’s a difficult question,” she said. “I’m sure there must be an answer.”

Hope this helps…
