I’ve got my writing setup to a black background with a light grey text. I’ve checked “Use block insertion point” and I can see the block blinking, except it’s black. Is there any way to change this to another color since it’s barely noticeable on the black background? Also, I’m not referring to fullscreen mode. Thanks!
This is a limitation of the standard editing mode, which isn’t really designed for light on dark editing like full screen is. What I would recommend is using something that isn’t quite black, but a very dark grey instead. The cursor will then at least be visible.
Thanks Ioa. I did as you suggested, but it doesn’t really do the trick. Any chance this is different in 2.0?
It will be the same in 2.0 (at the moment anyway). What I would suggest is inserted a feature request in the wish list forum. It’s not impossible, the question is whether or not it is common enough to be appropriate. There is another feature in 2.0 that uses cursor re-colouring to indicate a special input mode, the question becomes whether or not it will dilute the meaning of that feature, for general purpose. By all means though, put it up for Keith to take a look at when he gets back from vacation.
