Change default font without presetting

Is there a way to change the default font and size in editor from courier to another without going to Tools - Options - Editor, or presetting or save preference which still makes it necessary to click here and there before I start typing. Can the default be changed through the programming files on my hard drive in C:\Program Files\Scrivener…

I want to use Times New Roman everytime but Scrievner always open in Courier New.

That is the default. Default formatting is stored in no other location at this time. Are you saying that even though you have TNR in your Options window, new documents are in Courier, or that periodically your options window resets and loses the default font?
