Change Document from Novel to Novel with Parts?

Hi:

My current document (90,000 words) is organized into Chapter and Scene folders. Now I’ve decided to split the manuscript into parts as well. I don’t want to just do this in compile, I want it staring me in the face from the binder as I work. Can’t find anything in the archives that addresses this need. Can it be done and, if so, how? I’m hoping to end up with something that looks like this:

PART ONE
Chapter
Scene
Scene
Scene

Chapter
Scene
Scene
etc.

PART TWO
Chapter
Scene
Scene
etc.

Probably a very simple fix but I’m reluctant to start experimenting for fear I may do a lot of damage.

Many thanks for any suggestions.
Jane

You don’t need to worry about templates – templates are literally just a starting point. They have no influence on your project from that point on.

Here’s one way to do it:
Simply create new folders for your Parts. Now, move the corresponding Chapters into the corresponding Parts. You’re simply adding a new level to the hierarchy. Now, in the Compile options, you shift everything for chapters and scenes down a level accordingly.

So simple, Devin, why didn’t I think of that???
Thank you,
Jane
