Change project title during compile

When I compile to a word doc, the header (on each page) where my title should be has my name / <$ABBRPROJECTTITLE> / and the page number.

To be clear, the name and page numbers are fine, but I only see the scrivener symbol placeholder for the title. How can I fix this?

Also, does that <$ABBRPROJECTTITLE> reference when coming up with the project title? The original document name? If I wanted to change my title, where do I input the new title so it is referenced during the compile phase?

These are set up in the Project/Meta-Data Settings… menu command, first tab. While you are there, note the actual placeholder is <$abbr_title> not abbrprojecttitle.
