Changes in 2-pane behaviours in V2.0

Keith, as I work my way around v2.0 I’m amazed at what you’ve achieved. Many many months ago when I said it would be really useful if it is was possible to use free form index cards I remember you being less than enthusiastic, so I was thrilled to see the implementation you’ve come up with.

Anyway, a behaviour seems to have changed, and, ermm, I like it the old way.

I typically work with the bottom pane in outline mode. As I either use the mouse to select other items in the outline, or simply use the up and down keys, the editor in the top pane updates with the content of that item. Only in 2.0 it doesn’t (although the notes etc which I have visible in the inspector do change). I see there is a right-click mouse option to open in the top editor, but this is more intrusive. I’ve gone through the preference options and can’t see how to change the behaviour permanently to how it was. Can it be done?

Nothing has changed at all in this regard. As with 1.x, you just need to select the “Selection Affects Other Editor” button:

Doh. I think I must have pressed that by accident in the old version and never realised that’s how it works.
