How do I change the default formatting (I’m really just interested in text color and background color) for inline annotations? I’ve looked in the forum but can’t find an answer that fits with the current version.

Inline annotation doesn’t have formatting of its own. And no bg color setting either.
It is merely just a box.
It remembers and uses the font color you last applied to one. (Frame and textual content.)
But that’s it. No other setting that I know of.
P.S. You can expect anything that has “inline something” for a name to be without any formatting of its own. It is inline, and therefor sticks to the paragraph’s.
