Changing how the Outliner categorizes colors? Help

I enjoy using the outliner as a way to see large chunks of my current project, but I have an issue which I hope someone can help me solve.
The outliner can highlight and give a color to the document according to its ‘label’, but not according to its ‘status’.Is there a way to switch this without redefining what a ‘label’ is? In other words, is there a way to look at my outliner and see the colors associated with each document based on what work I have left to do, not on the type of document it is?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Only labels have colours associated with them, but you can rename “Label” and “Status” to anything. So you could rename “Label” to “Status” and “Status” to “Label” (or whatever), so that your status list has colours associated with it. In other words, although “out of the box” these two features are entitled “Label” and “Status”, these are really arbitrary titles and it may be better to think of them as “a list with colours” and “a list without colours”. Either can be named anything you want and used for anything you want.

All the best,
Keith

Thanks for the quick reply. I wanted to be able to use each, but I’ll just switch the arbitrary names and work around it. Now that I think about it, I only one of the two.
