Closing single project is crashing program

Hello! I searched for any information on this issue but found nothing.

I have been using Scrivener for three years (currently using Windows version 1.9.16.0). My computer uses Windows 10, 64 bit. RAM 8gb, 2.1GHz Intel core CPU.

An issue arose a few months ago where, if I have more than two or more projects open, if I close one, whether it be by clicking on the X, using File>Close Project, or F4, that project closes and the others crash. I then typically lose my word count on any scenes I was working on since my last backup/sync and have to copy and paste those scenes back into the page to return my word count from 1 to the actual count. I have tried to check and uncheck “Reopen projects that are open on quit” under options but it makes no difference. It used to happen only occasionally, but now it happens every time I try to work with more than one project at a time.

I looked at the dump files, which I analyzed, but unfortunately, they make no sense to me (above is pretty much what I know about working with programs  ) I can’t seem to attach the dump file from this morning (the minidump folder shows empty when I browse to it), and I copied and pasted it into a Word document but that, too, doesn’t show up to be attached.

I hope I’ve given enough information to get some help with this!
Thanks so much! (And I love love love this program otherwise!)

Hi rhedges,

L&L certainly does hang out here, but these forums are primarily for peer to peer support.

As you are experiencing crashes and risk of data loss, I recommend you also contact L&L support directly, here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/bug-reporting

Be sure to set your spam filters and check your spam folders as instructed in the linked page, as L&L support emails frequently seem to end up in spam folders.

Best,
Jim

Thank you so much for your help, Jim. I will certainly do that!
