Maybe I’m just too used to opening Safari links, but it would be useful to have a way to Cmd+click on a binder item, which, if something is open in full screen, would toggle a split and would open the clicked item in the new half.
(Right now this requires manually toggling the split, then clicking on the other half (which is eliminable I realize), and then clicking on the binder item.)
Maybe I’m being confused by terminology here and the Safari behaviour as I don’t use that browser, but if you’re talking about opening the split editor by clicking a binder item, that is doable by holding the Opt
key when clicking. Loading an item this way will open it in the inactive split, opening the split if it doesn’t exist (in other words, works whether or not the editor is already split). See “When Loading Items” in §12.2.3 of the user manual for more details on the behaviour (and the section as a whole for other ways of setting how the binder clicks affect the editors, if that may be of use to you).
Oh, that’s right. I did not know that (and hadn’t tried). I’ll delete the request. Thank you!!
No need to delete! The post may help someone else looking for that same behaviour.
Like me - I came here asking for something like this! Thanks
