Code formatting and highlighting

It would be very helpful if Scrivener had an intrinsic style for code formatting, which would preserve lines and indentation and offer simple context-aware code highlighting. I found a post from a year and a half ago [1] which mentions a technique for including code snippets, but the menu options that it refers to have either changed in the meantime or are not available on the Linux version of Scrivener.

Yes, that’s the sort of feature you are looking for. We do have that designed and in the Mac version right now, but it is not yet in the Windows/Linux version. It might be a while before it gets implemented however. That is part of a more recent set of additions to the software, and is in a sense a stop-gap for a more complete revision of how Scrivener handles formatting. So it may never be literally implemented, but provided as part of a more comprehensive set of tools for doing stuff like this. It’s all rather up in the air, but just know we are on top of it.

Thanks, Amber.
