Collaborating across versions doesn't work

I am co-writing with a colleague who has the latest version of Scrivener. However, I have an older Mac and couldn’t get the latest, (V3) so had to buy V2.9

When I make changes to a script and send to him, all is fine, however, if he makes changes and sends to me, my version won’t open it. We have tried to see if his version allows him to save as an older version (like Word) but we couldn’t find this.

Please can you help, as we can’t work like this - and I can’t buy the latest??

You need to have them use the File ▸ Export ▸ as Scrivener 2 Project… menu command, when they send a copy of the project to you. Alternatively they could use 2.9 as well for the project they are working with you on. They can put their v3 serial number into it, and we make it available like that just for cases like this. But saving as v2 also should work fine.

Hi - and thank you so much!! We missed the ‘export’ thing… doh! Obvious really!! That’s great.
(And yes, he could also work in 2.9 too)

Muchos gracias!
