Compilation question

On some scenes (not all) I would like to put a place and a time in the beginning. Like: “Stockholm, two weeks ago” just like a heading to the text ( I’ve tried using heading 2 for that line). However I still want the compiler to skip indents on the first paragraph of text following that heading.

To me this is like standard writing rules for text, but I’m unable to make it work in Scrivener, first paragraph of text is indented. I tried putting the heading in a separate section but that gives a lot of vertical space between them that I don’t want.

Any clues to solve this are much appreciated.

To start: what format are you compiling into?

I suspect what you want to do is just add the text in the chapter folder as a new section, like you’ve done, and then map that section to some specific, new format (“time/place indicator”) which you style in the compiler.

The left-flush first graf should still apply for a scene, since that would occur at the transition between section types. But knowing what you’re targeting will help.

Yes, you are right. Never thought of doing that. My problem is solved.
Thank you.
