Compile dialogue box

Still in the tutorial, and I’m looking at the Compile box and going through the exercises.

One problem: I can’t move the dialogue box out of the way to see what I’m supposed to be doing; and also, when I set up a bunch of settings as instructed, then press Cancel to see what I’m supposed to do next, cancelling obviously cancels the changes I’ve made.

Is there any way of a) moving the dialogue box, and b) having it act as a window, so I can click into the Editor pane and then back into the dialogue box?

Hi,

No, there’s no way of moving it - the Compile dialogue is a sheet rather than a panel. This is why the tutorial recommends loading the document you are referring to in a QuickReference panel - that way you have it open alongside the Compile panel as you go through things:

A tip for when you want to close the Compile panel but save any changes is to hold down the Option key - this will turn the “Compile” button into a “Save” button, which saves your changes and closes the panel without compiling.

All the best,
Keith

Excellent, thanks!
