compile draft plain text without the .txt extension

Hi folks, I think asked about this several months ago but I thought I would try again.

I want to do a compile draft and save the output as plain text but I don’t want the .txt extension.
I want to save it with some other extension (which is important for what happens to the document next). I don’t want to have rename the file each time. And I would rather not have to set up an automator script.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
R Haynes

There is not anything you can do from within Scrivener, it will always put the .txt at the end of the name you provide. So book.tex.txt, or book.md.txt, et cetera. I use Hazel for just this sort of thing, though I realise that is only a step away from Automator.
