Compile for: MultiMarkdown -> LaTeX
Open compiled document in:
I can not find or choose “TeXShop” from the list

Is this bug?

If I choose the Compile for: MultiMarkdown then
I can choose “TeXShop”.

I have that same problem, it’s something you would have to inform TeXShop about, I think. The way this works is Scrivener asks the Mac what types of files have registered themselves with the Mac to be capable of working with the file type associated with the “.tex” file extension. We get the list back, and populate the menu for you. You can check in Finder as well by right-clicking on a .tex file and looking at the “Open with” menu—in theory that should be identical.

On top of that, I’ve seen some programs come and go from this list, even though they haven’t changed. The system seems to periodically forget that the Atom editor exists, which is frustrating since that is what I use to typeset LaTeX files. :slight_smile:

@terminal, executed the following command :

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

solved the problem. :smiley:

Very useful tip! Thanks for tracking that one down, I’ve put it in my notes.
