Compile print settings

Hi – I changed my print settings when I was trying to print actual index cards (which was unsuccessful) to 4X6 paper size. Now, when I compile the manuscript, it comes out as 4x6 instead of 8.5x11. I can’t seem to find the setting to return the compilation in MS Word (or PDF) to letter size. Any ideas?

Most compile Formats will use your project’s print settings by default, rather than specify their own paper size, which I believe you’ve discovered. You would make that change with the File ▸ Page Setup... tool, where you should be able to pick a standard paper size.

By the way, if you want to print the corkboard info (title + synopsis) to roughly index card shaped rectangles, you can actually just print (CtrlP) from the Corkboard itself. It will print three cards per sheet of paper, which you can then cut out.

Hi Amber – Thanks so much for your reply. However, I changed the setting in File>Page Setup option and it didn’t change. Even when I switched to another project, and changed the setting there, when I compiled in MS Word, the output was a 4x6 landscape.

Also, I was hoping to actually print on 4x6 cards so I wouldn’t have to cut sheets of paper and would have actual index cards to work with. Can’t figure out how to do that, though.

My solution to the page setup problem was to uninstall and reinstall Scrivener. That seems to have worked. This is at least the second instance of Scrivener being damn stubborn and confusing.

Thanks for your help anyway.
