Compile shows no documents * SOLVED :)

I am trying to compile in Scrivener … but nothing shows up. I have several books in one project and when I choose compile, nothing shows up … I’ve manually checked what I want to include and still nothing shows up.

When I hit compile and expand the dialogue box and it is sitting on the ‘Content’ choice, I should see Include - Title - Page Break - As-is … but that whole area is blank…there are no files listed. I’ve already compiled part of this project to Word last week with no problems.

And if I open ‘Compile’ in a completely separate project, it works as it should.

I’ve closed and re-opened the project. I’ve re-booted. All the files are there, I can work in them … In fact, I haven’t even opened this project since I compiled part of it last week.

I’m stumped. Please heeeelllp me. lol

Compile compiles the files in the “manuscript” folder.

Are your files in the right folder?

If not, drag and drop, then compile should work.

Good luck.

Thanks Brian. When I click Manuscript it shows me 'Not enough text items. When I choose Book 1 I get word count for Book 1. Book 2 gets word count for Book 2, etc.

So maybe I have the Book folders somehow on the same level as the Manuscript? So I need to collapse each Book, then drag them to Manuscript?

EDIT: I did that ^^^^ and it worked! Thank you SOOO Much. I guess I somehow got them on the wrong level when I moved all the books into one project. Thanks Brian!

Non-destructive. Worth trying. Or just put a dummy test file in there initially to see if it appears in the compile window.

Good luck

Briar, not Brian :unamused:

Seen your update. Glad it worked.

Good luck with the book.

Sorry 'bout that … Thank you Briar!

You are not the first. :open_mouth:

No worries, and welcome
