Compiling footnotes for MS Word

I tend to use a lot of footnotes when I write (academic research). When I compile the document, MS Word for MAC doesn’t recognize the footnotes as footnotes. They are there in the right place; however, if I delete a foonote in MS Word, the remaining footnotes are not automatically renumbered. Is there a way to compile footnotes so that MS Word recognizes them as footnotes rather than simply put them at the bottom of the text and treat them as regular text?

Export to RTF and open the RTF file in Word. Or, try the new beta from https://forum.literatureandlatte.com/t/scrivener-2-x-update-betas-download-here/11262/1 and ensure that you have Java installed, as that is capable of using some better Java-based converters.

All the best,
Keith

Keith,

Thanks. I thought I tried both docx and rtf; the rtf format certainly works.

Take care,
