Compiling for Amazon. What are the usual problems encountered?

Had to compile to a Word.doc to allow me to adjust margins, (not enough gutter). Managed to upload it but then noticed a number of problems. Tabs now 10 characters, no page break between chapters and 4 pages of, (postage stamp sized), compressed text??? Help!!!

Tabs never work in the XHTML-files of an e-book, use indenting.

The gutter should not be relevant in e-books either.

Margins for e-books are set by readers for their e-reader. So, set those to zero.

ToCs are usually the issue, search here for solutions.

Getting the cover in is sometimes an issue. RTFM.

Sometimes a error pops up during validation. There’s a small bug in nested lists, for example. Use Sigil ebook Editor to correct the missing closing tags.

Scrivener does not embed publisher fonts, so embedding them is a tricky thing to do, and readers may never see them.

Hope this helps.

If you want a special font for beginning of chapter or scene for an ebook is to put text on transparent png file and ebook will treat as image and preserve font no matter the changes on the ereader.
