Compiling issue

Hello,
Admittedly, I am a noob! But, I didn’t just run to the forum with my hand out begging for help. Due diligence was did! I scoured YouTube and when nothing matched I bought a Scrivener course online from Udemy. I learned a lot, but I have a huge problem and I don’t know what to do… My compile menu looks NOTHING like the one in any tutorial. It is completely laid out differently, not intuitive, and I can’t compile my work. I am 1/3 done with my novel. I would love to compile the first third for review and treat it like its own 1st draft. I feel like polishing the first third would set me up to move forward more productively. Anyways… HELP!!! I have no idea what to do next. Can anyone offer advice or maybe Zoom with me???

Hello Colin, and welcome to the forum.

Which version of Scrivener for Mac are you using? I’m assuming Scrivener 3 for Mac, but I’d like to confirm that since you’re reporting that what you’re seeing in Scrivener looks different from videos you’ve seen.

And, speaking of videos, have you checked out our Mac tutorial videos, which you can access via Scrivener’s Help menu?

On the Scrivener 3 for MacOS video webpage, we have a 4-part video series titled “Getting Your Work Out”. Those videos demonstrate using the built-in compile formats as well as show the customization process.

Watching all four will take about 25 minutes or so and is a good starting point for seeing the process.

Colin’s profile says version 3.2.3.
