compiling .mobi file

Windows 7

Attempting to compile a .mobi file throws an error message that a free Amazon ap is required. Downloaded the ap (KindleGen) to desktop and that little darlin’ doesn’t open for more than a fraction of a second. Still, no .mobi file generated. Before I drone on, any suggestions?

Cheers!

You need to tell Scrivener where you installed KindleGen in the compile option pane of the same name. KindleGen itself is just a utility that will take book source material and turn it into a hybrid Mobi/KF8 file. If you run it without any source it will just terminate immediately, so that all sounds normal.

Amber,

Ah… that did the trick. Thank you Ma’am!
