Compiling Problem For .mobi and .epub

I’m using the latest release of Scrivener to compile a rather long document (well over 1000 pages) and I’m running into a rather odd issue. There are currently 37 chapters, but I noticed this when I added and compiled the 36th chapter. It is still an issue with the 37th.

When I compile the document it appends Chapter 36, in its entirety, as part of the clickable table of contents. Once you scroll past the end of the now greatly expanded table of contents (~2 pages for the TOC and another 40 pages for the chapter), you actually start the document and all the chapters are there in their proper order, including the problem child, Chapter 36.

Any thoughts?

I’m considering breaking the document up into multiple sections, but I’d prefer that only as a last resort.

Thanks!

Kurt

It sounds like you pasted your chapter text into a title at some point on accident. Because the Binder and index cards only show one line of text, this problem can go unseen until you compile. The easiest way to check for that is to use the Outliner view in the main editor, and click on the folder that contains this problematic chapter. Scroll to it, and you’ll probably see an acre of title font text. You can just double-click in there to edit and remove it all.
