Hi. When I go to compile my novel in Scrivener 3, and to set up the section types for the various scenes and chapters, Scrivener 3 gives me just a list of the folders (Chapters) but not a list of the scenes within them. Help!
EDIT: I figured out why the documents weren’t showing up; I didn’t have Section Types assigned to them. Now the question is: How do I assign section types to multiple documents at once? Whenever I select multiple documents in the Binder, the Inspector goes back to Bookmarks view and the icons at the top disappear so I cannot select a Section Type.
Okay, thanks guys. Leave it to me to NOT find the easiest and simplest solution! But now I have a different problem. I THOUGHt it was because I hadn’t defined section types for the documents. But that wasn’t it. I’ve still got the same problem: Only Level 1 folders are showing up in the Compiler when I go to Compile… what’s going on?
I’ve just noticed that in your screenshot, in the dropdown box on the top right, the little ‘funnel’ filter icon is outlined in blue. That means that you’ve set a filter – click on it to bring up the filter dialog. Clear the ‘Apply filter’ tick box and see if that makes a difference.
Aha! That was it! I had imported a compile preset from Scrivener 2 that had had a filter applied that I had TOTALLY forgotten about, and Scrivener 3 had preserved that filter on import. Once I disabled the filter, all was well! Thank you so much for noticing that — I would never have spotted that on my own!
