if I may, a not-so-positive feedback on one of the changes. A very small thing though.
The way I usually work is by having Scrivener in full screen, and then going to Compile mode. With S3, Compile opens another full screen window, rather than just transforming the one on which I am working.
Considering that I usually keep other software opened as I write (dictionary, mind maps, etc.), I need to move among more windows than before, which is annoying. It is, as I said, a very minor issue - but hard as I tried to love this new feature, I just find it cumbersome.
I’m unclear on what has changed here. One has never been able to compile while in composition mode—the menu command has always been disabled—so how you are getting to the point where it opens another full screen window, as you put? And what do you mean by v2 transforming your window?
My mistake - I was writing quickly. When I said ‘compile’ I meant ‘composition mode’. With S2, when working full-screen, Composition Mode simply took the place of the full-screen window. Now it opens a second full-screen window…
We did make some necessary changes involving composition mode and full screen. I’m not familiar with the specifics of this interaction myself, but the changes were made to reduce fragilities and quirks that existed in v2.
