compositional mode

I have a problem in compositional mode. Mac OS10.12.2

I like to use a gentle cream background - it’s relaxing.

But when I switch from normal to compositional view, I see my text but on a white background with a narrow border of the intended colour around it.

Anyone got a suggestion?

There are two different background colours, the background behind the text (Paper) and the background around the text (Background). You can set them to both be the same colour if you do not wish for there to be a “border” as you put it.
