Controlling audio in split editor [DOCUMENTATION ERROR]

According to manual, I can split the editor and control the audio while I’m in a text window:

Controlling media While typing in one split, you can start and stop QuickTime movies and audio tracks with – R, making this setup extremely useful for transcription. If you have Rewind on Pause enabled (subsection 14.8.3), this shortcut will also rewind the piece by a set amount (3 seconds by default), making it easy to catch up.

For some reason, I can’t get this to work. I use an Olympus recorder, which saves the audio as wma.

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Hmm, good catch - that seems to be a mistake in the documentation. It should be cmd-return, not opt-cmd-R. I’ll mark the title of this thread so that Ioa catches this in the next documentation update.

Thanks,
Keith

Which revision of the documentation are you viewing? I’ve just checked and the latest revision (2.0.1-01) does state Cmd-Return. This is in §14.8.3 (pg. 153), by the way, in case we are looking at two different spots.

It’s under “Controlling Media” on page 155.

Got it; thanks.

Excellent. Glad it works, and glad I could help you fix a typo.
