Hi, I’ve looked around for this but didn’t find anything. Family emergencies for the last 15months kept me away while updates were implemented and it seems there was a change to operation of split view. I’ve figured it out but I need to know what is causing a hard return when I copy and paste from one document on the right to either a doc on the left or Quick ref window. Isn’t that something new - as in the last couple years? It’s very aggravating. there must be a way to turn that off in preferences or avoid it but I can’t find it. If that’s not it, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Martie
It doesn’t happen for me (macOS Catalina 10.15.7, Scrivener 3.1.5) and I’ve never noticed it happening in the past. In fact, I can’t even find a way to do it on purpose (in Scrivener, without using some external formatting tool).
Very odd… Does the same thing happen with a new Project, or in TextEdit?
Thanks, Brookter. I started a new project and it fixed both problems. The other file wasn’t allowing me to click on the right panels title bar and open a doc quickly.
Problem now is this is my main book metadata file. . .blurbs, book links, ad copy, etc. Do you think if I copy everything one folder at a time to a new project, it will still have the same problem? I guess I’m fixin’ to find out. Appreciate your quick response.
Update: I copied the folders from the bad file to the new file. The hard returns and messed up document was still there but when I copied to the bottom of the doc, everything was back to normal.
Thanks, Brookter

Not sure I know what happened to cause it, but I’m glad you’ve found a way round the problem!
