I would like to have the same styles for my project on my MacBook and iMac. Is there a way to assure this?
There isn’t an easy way to do this, and you should have a passing understanding of plist files and files you can’t see from the Finder, to attempt it. Even then, it isn’t something you’d want to attempt on a regular basis. From
Can ruler styles be moved between computers, and if so, how?
The style system, found in OS X’s universal ruler tool, stores its preferences within a hidden file called .GlobalPreferences.plist. It would probably be unwise to simply copy this file from one computer to another, because it contains settings which apply to specific parts of your configuration which may not exist on the target computer.
Instead, you will need to extract just the style information out of this file, into a new file, and then use that temporary file to inject the information into the target computer’s GlobalPreferences.plist file. For instructions on how to do this, please visit
