Corkboard separate from Chapters

I have a novel with chapters (folders.) I also have cards in the cork board for each chapter. The only way to see the cork board view is to go up to Manuscript. If I change the view to corkboard on the individual file, I get a blank cork board. Help.

I think that your folders(chapters) are not actually folders, but files with nested files in them.

If that is the case, you have two solutions:

1 (right-click)

2

If you click on an individual text document (that has no subdocs in the Binder hierarchy), and if you are in corkboard view mode, you will not see any index cards. This is intentional behaviour. To see the index card of a single text doc which is selected, open the Inspector pane and see it there.

It is also worth noting that Scrivener remembers your chosen view mode for each of the categories of text docs, container docs and folders. Click on one of your folders and see what view mode you are then in. Reassert the corkboard view mode if necessary.
