This has been discussed extensively, from back when the iOS version came out. I’m therefore closing this thread, as any further advocating should be made there, in the context of that discussion and in reflection of the points already made, rather than anew.
But to quickly answer: no there is no setting for that, and you’ll find rationale for why that is still the case, in the earlier portions of that thread.
