I’m using Scrivener 3.1.10 (1463331) 64 bit on Windows 11. When I open Scrivener, it looks for updates and crashes (goes unresponsive forever.) I get the error on the first open of the day and anytime I try to run the updates on my own. When I open it again, it doesn’t check for updates and allows me to continue writing.
It would be pure speculation if I were to guess what the root cause is. If I were in that situation, I’d wonder over the Literature and Latte’s web site and grab the latest version for Windows and install that with the hope it would fix the issue. If not step 2 can be suggested by others, I guess.
Speculation for step 2: Anti-virus software interfering?
