# Crash Report, Resizing a mystery square

Version 1.9.7 on Windows 10.

What happened:

I did an Edit/Insert Image Linked to file with this image:

I split the edit window in two (horizontal split)  
I noticed that in the lower window, in addition to the image, there was a rectangle with a tiny square in its lower right corner. I’d never seen that before.  
Curious, I clicked on the tiny square, and resized the rectangle.  
In an instant Scrivener was gone. Crashed.

Many were facing the issue the week you posted did thread, but I tried later and it was working fine. Do recheck once now.
