Scrivener is crashing every time I try to import certain word docs. Fileconverter runs and hangs. The files then turn up in Recovered after a restart.
Is this a problem with word docs containing particular formatting?

Have you tried exporting from Word as RTF yet? That is Scrivener’s native format, and should be much faster and more reliable than running the file through converters. Plus, Word’s RTF conversion is going to have much high quality (arguably the best in the world) than any third-party converter will.
