Create scene bookmarks by dragging and dropping binder docs - possible?

Hello everyone,

I’ve got a list of character sheets and I want to drop appropriate bookmarks into the scene document bookmarks tab (i.e. not the project bookmarks tab). It’s not working for me though. When I try to highlight the character sheets in the binder the editor focus changes to the character sheet, away from the scene which I actually wanted to add the bookmarks to. What I’m trying to do is select multiple character sheets and then drag and drop them in one hit to the document (scene) bookmark tab.

This is the first time I’ve tried this operation, so there’s a ‘very high probability’ that I’m just going about this the wrong way…

Is there a quick way of achieving this goal, or is it a matter of adding a bookmark one at a time (not using drag and drop I assume?)

Thank you.

Tasks like this are precisely what the Navigate ▸ Editor ▸ Lock in Place command is for. It allows you to freely work in the binder sidebar without it changing the selection. You’ll note you can also lock the inspector to a split in that same menu—this can come in handy when bookmarking between splits, as clicking into a split activates it and swaps the inspector over to viewing it, instead of the thing you want to drop in to.

Both of these can be accessed more easily with a shortcut for the former, or right-clicking in the inspector tab area, or on the icon in the main editor.
