Scrivener is the best program for those who write!
However, it could become even better…
There is a strong need for the ability to highlight colors in images, as it is done in OneNote.
This feature is also lacking for PDF documents.
It would also be nice to have the ability to create cross-references within documents rather than linking to separate documents.
Additionally, it would be nice to add the ability to create to-do lists with checkboxes in Synopsis.
You might try searching the forum before posting feature requests in the future, as most of this has been discussed:
- Research can and should be opened in dedicated editing programs (there is a button for it right in the footer bar, right side of it). Scrivener is a hub, it cannot replace everything you own, nor should it. That way leads to severely bloated software (of the likes Microsoft creates, funnily enough).

- Managing todos in Scrivener
- On overloading information into one feature instead of using intended designs (for example, packing your entire todo list into a plain-text description of one outline item, instead of using the outliner to list todos and checkboxes to tick them off when you’re done—the synopsis would then be used to describe the todo in longer format as needed, rather than playing host to what the Outliner does in microcosm).
