Is there a way to select which style you like?
I post to the web and via e-mail where so called “smart” quotes destroy the entire document in text based programs. I don’t even like looking at them; I want my straight quotes back.
Check out Edit–>Options–>Auto-Corrections. There’s an option to turn off curly “smart” quotes there. 
Be sure to click on Apply when you’ve deselected “smart” quotes, and you should be good to go.
