Hi, I am looking for the ability to show words that ARE spelled correctly as being misspelled.
I have a list of spam words which trigger email spam filters and I’d like to use it. I’m an email copywriter and I need to be able to write spam word free copy.
Rather than altering the dictionary, you could create a saved search with the list of terms, searching within the text for “Any” of the words. When you load the document from the search collection, all the search terms will be highlighted in the text, and you can revise as needed.
You should be able to copy and paste a list of words, separated by whitespace, into the search field. I just did a quick test with a list of about 70 words and it worked as expected. One caveat, since you’re using “Any Word” rather than “Whole Word”, words on the list will be highlighted even if they are contained within a longer word (i.e. “in” would be highlighted within “again”). That may not be much of an issue, depending what sort of words are on the spam list.
If you need to search for complete phrases, you’d need to run a separate search for each using “exact phrase”.
A tip: keep your word list in a project notepad (Project/Project Notes… menu command). It will be easier to edit, and when you want to update it, just copy and paste from that. If you use this a lot, you can create your own “blank” template starter that has this notepad already set up and maybe a search tab saved into it as well.
I am pretty sure we should have first asked Bkcopywriter whether the email he or she copywrites is itself spam – before lending the least assistance in the circumventing of our email junk filters.
Sometimes what it takes for good to triumph, is for good people to do nothing.
