Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

Hi, all.

In Microsoft Word I was able to simply (without programming language) create a keyboard shortcut so that Ctrl-M created an m-dash. Is there a simple way to do this in Scrivener?

You can use the substitutions to do something similar, turning two hyphens (–) into an em dash (—) automatically; you can toggle this setting in the Corrections tab of Tools > Options…, though I believe it’s on by default. Enabling advanced substitutions there will allow you to do some more complicated replacements, but not something using modifier keys like you’re describing. Those are only used in menu commands (which you can customise in the Keyboard tab of Options, but there’s no command for inserting an em dash).

Thank you!
