Okay, I’m writing a book that uses a lot of custom image separators between scenes. Since I"m on teh Windows platform, I can’t use the image I use as a separator in the compile section. So I want to create a default template for new scenes with the custom image at the bottom of the file so I don’t have to add it in every time when I do my new file.
If you have a Templates folder in your project add a ‘blank’ file with the image at the bottom (and any other alterations, such as custom icon) to that Templates folder. If you don’t already have that folder, create one and then make it into the official “Templates” folder by going to Project->Set Selection as Templates Folder. Make sure your custom file is in that folder and is the first file in it.
Now, when you want a new scene file with the image at the bottom, just hit the keyboard sequence for “new from template” as seen in the Project->New From Template menu.
Be sure to use the Format->Formatting->Preserve Formatting command on the image file if you want it to remain centered after compilation. I’d suggest you run a test compile once you’ve set everything up and used the new template once, just to make sure everything is to your liking; otherwise you may not be saving yourself any work.
