I’m using 14 point font in my display using a custom style (“Base”) but the “Formatting” tab in the “Section Text” layout is set to 12 point. “Override text and notes formatting” is checked in the “Section Text” layout UI.
Compiling to .pdf results in 14point or 12 point text, depending on the display format / style, and so is apparently NOT being overridden by my custom compile format.
It’s possible there’s some obscure setting I’m not aware of somewhere, but I cannot find it in the manual.
Ugh.
There could be a few things going on and it’s not really possible to diagnose without seeing all the settings.
But assuming all your Section Types are coming through to compile and are allocated to the appropriate Section Layout, here are some initial things to check:
- Edit Format > Styles. Is there a ‘Base’ style in the list and does it look like you expect it to look? (In my screenshot it’s Body, but it’s only a name…, the principle is the same.)
- Edit Format > Section Layout > Section Text > Formatting. Click in the text itself then right-click > Styles. Is ‘Base’ selected? If not, what happens if you select it?
That works for me.
(BTW, it’s not really advisable to have the majority of your text with a defined style (‘Base’) — it makes compilation more complicated, as you’re finding.)
