Customizable Formatting Tools Pallet

It would be fantastic if we could add or remove elements from the Formatting Tools Pallet when it’s displayed. I sometimes wish to color code text in my documents, but the floating Font Attributes window is unwieldy. If I could choose to have font color, size, etc. displayed there or not in a system similar to how one can customize their Finder bars or Safari Icon Bars, it would be very helpful to me!

Hi,

The font panel is actually a system tool provided by OS X, and available in many apps, so there’s no way to customise it I’m afraid.

All the best,
Keith

Thanks for your reply KB! I was actually referring to duplicating the font panels functions onto the toolbar across the top of the editor window. Just like we have underline, bold and italic toggles available there; I’d love to see other attributes exposed on that bar. I might have used the wrong term in referring to it as the formatting tools pallet, I had meant the toolbar across the top of the text editor where we can pick list style and such.

Ah, in that case, Scrivener 2.0 will have a Pages-like formatting bar below the toolbar, which exposes all these formatting features. It won’t be customisable, but on the other hand there aren’t vast numbers of formatting options in Scrivener anyway, so it will contain all the ones you will need without being cluttered - font, bold/italic/underline, alignment, text colour and so on.

All the best,
Keith

Fantastic! Thanks KB! I love your software and it’s a pleasure to see such wonderful support from the developer!
