Is there a way to set the “Add a new document” button (i.e. the “+” button) to create a new document of a certain type (e.g. a document of a certain template), rather than just a blank new text document? Thanks!

Thanks. I didn’t see anything about changing the behavior of the green button, but I did find this:
The topmost template item in the template folder is a special spot as it will be given a keyboard shortcut, ⇧⌥⌘N.
That works well enough for me for now.
You can change the settings for any folder in Scrivener to automatically create new documents from a certain document template any time you click the + button while that folder is selected. Just select the folder and go to Documents → Default Template for Subdocuments and select a document template from your Template Sheets folder. Repeat as needed for any other folders in the project.
