Cut/copy and paste within document drops TAB[BUG LOGGED]

  1. Load the NaNoWriMo template
  2. Go to the “Character Sheet”
  3. In the second section, copy the “Personality” line
  4. Immediately paste it (so that it is directly under the first “Personality” line)
  5. Notice that the TAB placement for the “Habits/Mannerisms” line was reset

If you instead hit Enter, Enter, Up-Arrow, Paste then the pasted line will instead have the TABs reset.

This seems to indicate that it isn’t that the paste operation disrupts the TABs on the line under it, it is rather that the paste operation will steal the TABs of the line one line below it.

Are you losing “physical” tab characters, or the ruler styles which impact how tabs are displayed?

Yeah, it is stealing the TABs of the line below it.

I had a line without the correct TABs between two empty lines. I took the empty line directly under the target and added TABs where I wanted them. I then took the line with text (and no TABs) and did a cut/paste. Once pasted the line of text had the TABs and the line under it had no TABs.

It is the ruler tab placements. – Not physical tabs. The physical tabs are there, they just go to the wrong section of the screen.

Thanks I have logged the bug.

For me, it also drops tabs with imported files (and replaced it with a -408). So I can’t paste in OR import with tabs.
