I started using Scrivener for NaNoWriMo, but the book I’m working on is going to take much longer than that. Scrivener has been a huge help, really the best writing companion I’ve ever had.
My version says it will stop working on Dec. 6, and the alpha version isn’t due until sometime in January, right? So do I have to stop using Scrivener for that month in between? Is there anyway I could pay for the alpha early and keep using the beta until it’s ready?
Beta versions have a time bomb so they don’t get used longer than they should. That date means nothing except as an arbitrary end of use date for that beta version. Other beta versions will have different expiration dates.
And by time bomb Ioa is not looking to get added to the TSA no fly list…
Keep in mind that I don’t work for L&L. And while Ioa is normally very lucid I can sense the panic welling…
It really isn’t a bomb as much as a switch. Once that date passes you will need to get a new beta or, if all goes well, buy a release version (more applicable to the mac side of the fence). All your files will still exist and will be able to be read by the new version once you install it.
