I’m wondering if there’s a way to set a default word target for chapters? I usually have a minimum word count target I’d like to hit for my chapters. I know I can set a chapter target in the outliner menu, but I can’t seem to find a way to create a default chapter target. Is there a feature for this?
There is a way to set up default attributes for new items, yes. The Document Templates feature is what you’re looking for. If you started with a project template, you may already have a document template folder (look for a blue ‘T’) in the binder. If not, just make a folder, select it, and use the Project/Set Selection as Templates Folder command. Now, anything you put in there will be available as a template. You could put a folder in here and give it a word count goal. Templates can be created with the Project/New From Template menu, but note the top template in this folder will be given a shortcut for you to use.
