Delete Character, Word Shortcuts

I heard you. If it actually prevents the user from entering such shortcuts, which is nice, then it can’t. I’m not familiar with KM. Most other programs just don’t care. They “override” shortcuts by simply intercepting them from other programs. Until you quit the offender.

UPDATE: I was wrong. Keyboard Maestro does override other shortcuts, at least some of them.

It doesn’t prevent me using any shortcut I want, but it doesn’t prevent the other program responding to it. That’s the only behavior I’d call overriding an existing shortcut. I think BetterTouchTool or Karabiner may be able to do it, but KM operates at a higher level where that’s not possible.

What happens in such case? Do both the KM shortcut and the other program’s shortcut work as intented / at the same time?

I’m caught with my foot in my mouth yet again, @November_Sierra !

If I set ⌘I to be the shortcut and use it in Scrivener, regular text doesn’t become italics. If the shortcut is ⌘Q, the macro executes without closing Scrivener.

I’m an idiot, obviously, but I’m glad you kept pressing me for answers. Knowing this will improve my KM experience immensely.

Don’t worry, I had to learn this the hard way, too. That’s why we’re here, right? :relieved:
