Delete text dragged to other areas [resolved]

Using Scrivener 3.2.3 on iMac
Selecting text and dragging to alternate split editor leaves the original text in place (thus creating duplicate text) despite having the option “delete text dragged to other areas” checked
? a bug

(practical issue is, that there are two copies of the same text in the manuscript , which is an editing nightmare)

problem resolved :: unchecked “delete text dragged to other areas”
closed Scivener, re-opened; re-checked “delete text ,”
it now works

glad bc it had been ‘bugging’ me for days
Happy to delete original post if possible
