Deleting Annotations/Footnotes

Is there a way to delete an annotation or footnote your cursor is currently in without first selecting all the text marked as an annotation/footnote? I know that no such option appears in a contextual menu, but is there any keyboard shortcut assigned to the task?

If not, I wish that when your cursor is in an annotation/footnote a the contextual click menu would also include an option to select or delete the entire annotation/footnote.

There is a kind of work-around that will do want you are wanting, for annotations anyway. You can use the search for annotation feature (Cmd-Ctrl-A) and the next and back buttons will highlight the full annotation. One nice trick there is that keyboard focus stays in the editor, so you can scroll through annotations and tap to get rid of them.
